PHILADELPHIA (June 12, 2020)Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner on Friday announced multiple Murder and related charges against alleged contract killer Steven Williams (DOB: 11/13/1994) of Philadelphia. Williams is charged in four separate incidents that are only connected by his involvement and the murder weapons.

The District Attorney’s Office (DAO) has charged Williams with four counts of: Murder, Conspiracy (F1), Hindering Apprehension (F3), Possessing an Instrument of Crime (M1), Recklessly Endangering Another Person (M2), Tampering with Evidence (M2), Obstruction of Justice (M2), and related weapons charges.

“Following a complex investigation by Philadelphia Homicide detectives, my office is today able to begin prosecution of Steven Williams, who collected thousands of dollars as a contract killer. His streak of wanton, violent crimes against our communities over the past two-plus years ends today,” District Attorney Krasner said. “I would like to thank the Philadelphia Police Department for their investigation and my office’s Homicide Unit for moving forward with this case. Despite the closure of most court functions, we will proceed as quickly as possible to bring him to justice, and to support those who have been mourning his victims for years.”

Williams, who is currently in custody at SCI Mahanoy in Frackville, Pennsylvania, for unrelated crimes that occurred in Montgomery County, is facing new charges related to the following four separate incidents:

  • First victim shot and killed in the Francisville section of the city while he was sitting in his son’s car;
  • Second victim shot and killed when he was getting out of his car in the Rhawnhurst section of the city;
  • Third victim shot and killed when he was sitting on the porch of a home in the East Mount Airy section of the city; and
  • Fourth victim shot and killed when he was sitting in a parked car in the West Oak Lane section of the city.

All four killings took place between September of 2018 and May of 2019. The First Judicial District will schedule his next court appearance in this case.
