For the Commonwealth highlights the important work our prosecutors are doing to secure justice in specific cases brought by the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office. Today we highlight the work of Assistant District Attorney David Osborne of our Homicide Unit.

ADA Dave Osborne secured a guilty verdict of First Degree Murder after a jury trial. The victim was a 17-year-old who was gunned down in October 2017 just half a block away from his house as he was walking home from the corner store. In the absence of cooperating eyewitnesses, video and GPS evidence was used to help prove that the defendant was responsible for the murder. Taking into account the defendant’s prior criminal history, the Hon. Barbara McDermott sentenced the defendant to Life Without Parole plus an additional 3 1/2 to 7 years for the defendant’s gun-related convictions.
